A Story of Hope for the New Year
For the New Year, Let's Travel! brings listeners a story of hope from a place many people consider hopeless -- Bangladesh. This South Asian country is best known for its poverty and its many annual, natural calamities such as floods, tropical cyclones, tornadoes and tidal bores. Now it is also home to Nandina General Hospital serving the underprivileged people in the surrounding areas of the village of Nardina near the capital of Dhaka. The founders of the hospital talk about their plans to make this facility a model for health care throughout the country. And we'll hear about the rich culture of
Bangladesh and some, as yet undiscovered, travel adventure spots.

Live of my life, I shall ever try to keep my body pure, knowing that
thy living touch is upon all my limbs.
I shall ever try to keep all untruths out from my thoughts, knowing
that thou art that truth which has kindled the light of reason in my mind.
I shall ever try to drive all evils away from my heart and keep my love
in flower, knowing that thou hast thy seat in the in-most shrine of my heart.
And it shall be my endeavour to reveal thee in my actions, knowing
it is thy power gives me strength to act.
